Game Update 47 is here and with it comes lots of new updates and features that many have been longing for. Have some thoughts or general feedback you’d like to share on this GU? Be sure to post them in the GU 47 Feedback thread on the EQ2 Official Forums.

It’s a Legends of Norrath Promo Weekend starting 2pm PDT on August 1st and going through 6pm PDT Sunday, August 3rd. There are two promo cards to be had for the month of August, the Holly Windstalker card and the Hoop of Fighting Focus!

Who knew forums could be so complicated? Ever wonder where a link goes or what a particular feature is for on the EQ2 Official Forums? Now is your chance to find out! SOE has put together a lovely tutorial on forum basics.
There are so many different sub-forums and seemingly hundreds of conversations going on at once. How in the world are you supposed to navigate through them and make sense of everything?

We’d like to help. In the first part of this guide we’ll cover the first things you’ll need to know and what you’ll see when you first visit the forums. We’re not going to go into the actual forums yet, but we’ll cover the main page. Lets start at the top and work our way down.
This has some great info for the forum browser novice, so stop in, check it out, and visit the forums just a little more often!

If you haven’t been keeping up with the Jeriah comic, then there is no better time! Here’s what is going on now:
Kixizor Z’Nast has been given his first assignment under the new Queen of Neriak. Because of his popularity among dark elves, he is to unite the dark elves throughout Norrath, by bringing them to the newly resurrected Neriak.
His first stop on this journey is Darklight Wood.

Meanwhile, Jeriah rescues his old friend, Ahishar, from the dark elf camps of Darklight Wood. They now start their journey towards home. Jeriah has promised to get Ahishar to Qeynos safely, before continuing his quest to find the final pages of the Tome of Destiny.
This is a wonderfully creative comic and a very nice read. Check out Issue 26 and catch up with previous issues at Jeriah Book.

The Rares by Adventuring Class series is now complete. Check out the newly-added guides for Fighters and Scouts. (There have also been minor tweaks to Priests and Mages. Nudge Mum in the forums if you see any issues with these, as I did a lot of cutting and pasting to save myself some time.

Are you headed to the SOE Fan Faire next weekend? Mum has put together a few helpful hints that might make the trip, and the Faire, a bit more enjoyable.

In the latest EQ2 Dev Blog, Technical Director Joshua “Autenil” Kriegshauser talks about the various “titles” of people who make the great game of EQ2 come together.
If you’re going to Fan Faire this year, you’re probably going to meet a lot of people who work on the games you love. However, everyone plays a bit of a different role. As you may have noticed from forum posts, people have different Titles that indicate what they work on. What do these titles really mean? Who should I be talking to about my question? And maybe we’ll find an answer to that age-old question: “What does a Producer really do?”

Just one short week before Fan Faire, are you all ready for it? SOE has posted some great info on Fan Faire maps and panel schedules that would be well worth printing out and taking with you.
For those attending, here are a few maps of the inside of the hotel where the events will be taking place. Feel free to use these to map out your strategies for maximizing your panel attendance, or print them out so you reduce the risk of getting lost during the three day celebration.

The event schedule has been updated with new panels and other fun events. These new exciting additions include the G.I.R.L - Gamers In Real Life Breakfast, a developer preview of the Agency, and a VIP Rock N Roll Karaoke Party at the Las Vegas Sports Center.
